October 2022: Dr. El Masri and collaborator receive National Science Foundation (NSF)
Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) grant to purchase gas fluxes and analyzers to
study the effects of changing climate on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in wetland
and upland ecosystems. Dr. El Masri receives Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) grant
May 2022: Ms. Jane Benson receives the Steven H. Cobb Staff Excellence Award
August 2021: Drs. El Masri, Stinchcomb, and Moon receives a grant from the Department
of Energy to study carbon dynamics of a temperate bald cypress, mineral soil wetland
and an adjacent bottomland hardwood stand.
April 2021: Dr. Marcie Venter receives an NSF research grant for her collaborative
research in Mexico entitled 鈥淐hanges In Landscape, Labor And Livelihood In Long Chronological Context.鈥�
Sep 2020: Dr. El Masri receives a NASA EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Development
grant for his research entitled Assessing the Impacts of Physiological and Environmental controls on the Accuracy
of WUE: Linking Field Observations, Satellite Imagery, and Land Surface Model.
May 2020: Congratulations to our May 2020 graduates! We are very proud of you all!!
August 2019: 麻豆社 receives $1 million NSF grant to promote strategic
equity initiatives for women faculty in STEM, where Dr. Robin Zhang serves as a member
of the MSU ADVANCE leadership team
June 2019: Earth and Environmental Sciences - Archaeology students study abroad in
Jamaica in search of evidence of the 1519 Spanish settlement of Oristan
May 2019: Dr. Neil and Mrs. Joan Weber creates the Neil and Joan Weber Endowed Scholarship
for incoming freshmen pursuing a degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences
Jan 2019: Graduate student Kevin Takashita-Bynum receives a $10,000 Early Career Grant
from National Geographic to conduct environmental research in Gona, Ethiopia.
